August is National Get Ready for Kindergarten Month. Today, West Point Elementary School welcomed students to an important day- the first day of kindergarten! Parents and guardians prepared for this day by establishing routines and providing encouragement about meeting new friends. Parents play an important and supportive role in their student’s social and academic preparation. Getting students off to a great start in school is very important. Research shows kindergarten is an essential milestone for all learners. At WPES, our students in Ms. Binns, Ms. VanMegroet, and Ms. Wayland’s classes quickly took direction to learn the classroom routines. We are looking forward to a great year!
